Skinny Water Review

Recently I received a case of Skinny Water from the company to review. The company was founded in 2006 and boasts a sugar, calorie, and sodium free great tasting product. Skinny Water has added electrolytes, vitamins and antioxidants that plain water does not provide. I was provided with the following flavors: Raspberry Pomegranate (Crave Control), Acai Grape Blueberry (Hi-Energy), Orange Cranberry Tangerine  (Wake-Up), Pink Citrus Berry (Power), Goji Black Cherry (Shape)  and Lemonade Passionfruit (Total-V).

As far as the taste goes, the flavors were defiantly a hit. I found that I reached for a Skinny Water before reaching for my normal diet soda. I have cut back on my diet soda intake, but it still hits the spot. Plain water tastes good to me, but I find myself needing a little flavor. I usually will take a refillable water bottle and buy some expensive water flavor packets to put in it. This is beginning to get almost as expensive as soda. Skinny Water would be a better replacement then my usual flavor water in the fact that it contains vitamins that I don’t normally get.

I work a second job overnight and always need something to take with me on the go. A pick-me-up would also help and that is where soda usually comes into play. I tried the “Wake-up” Skinny Water and now prefer this. It has a great orange flavor with a hint of cranberry to it. I ran out of the two that I had pretty quickly and begin to crave them. What the heck do they put in it to make it so addicting? I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary for me when drinking the Crave Control, Shape, or Total-V drinks. The Power and Hi-Energy certainly put a little pep in my step, though.

Overall, I love the flavors and am excited to see what flavors come next in the line of drinks. I will also be looking for this product in my local CVS.

Cold weather workout

As the weather begins to get colder, at least here in Florida, you will want to think about protecting yourself from the elements during your outdoor workouts.

1. Dress for the weather. You don’t want to go for a jog in shorts and a t-shirt when it is 30 degrees outside. However, you also don’t want to dress to warm. Your body, obviously, creates a considerable amount of heat as you begin to sweat. Wear clothing that is easy to remove when you begin to sweat and put back on once you cool down.

2. Protect your ears, hands, and feet. When the weather begins to get colder, your body concentrates the blood flow in the center of your body, or core. This leaves your extremities vulnerable to frostbite. Wear gloves, warm socks, and cover up those red ears.

3. What’s a wind chill? When the wind begins to blow in the cold weather, the air feels colder then it actually is. This is the wind chill. When working out in the cold, the wind can penetrate your warm layers and compromise that warm cozy layer surrounding your body. Prepare for this, workout inside, or think about skipping your workout all together.

4. Make yourself seen. As always, make sure that your wear clothing that can be easily seen or reflective. Drivers hardly pay attention to anything other then their phone as it is. You don’t want to make it even harder for them to see you.

Be safe, but make sure you still exercise. There is always some way to get your heart rate up, just make sure you do so 4 – 6 times a week.
